Julie McClain, LCSW-S
I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Supervisor based in Texas, and I’ve spent the last 10+ years walking alongside people as they navigate anxiety, trauma, attachment wounds, and identity shifts. I founded Rooted in Wellness Counseling to create a space where healing feels empowering, not overwhelming. I specialize in working with individuals who struggle with anxious, avoidant, and insecure attachment styles, unresolved childhood trauma, relationship difficulties, and emotional overwhelm. You don’t need to have everything figured out to begin, just a willingness to explore.

My Approach
Therapy with me is relational, nonjudgmental, and responsive to your unique needs. I’ll meet you with curiosity and compassion, while also offering clear insight, structured tools, and gentle challenges when helpful. We move at your pace, honoring both the depth of your pain and the strength you’ve built to survive it. In our work together, we may explore:
-
Your inner dialogue and the parts of you that feel anxious, critical, or shut down
-
How early relational experiences shaped your attachment style
-
How to reconnect with your body and regulate your nervous system in the present
-
How to stop people-pleasing, set boundaries, and build trust in yourself

My Philosophy
I believe healing happens when we slow down and listen to the parts of ourselves we’ve spent years trying to silence. Your symptoms aren’t flaws, they were born out of an innate drive to survive. Together, we’ll learn to understand them, work with them, and ultimately, help you reconnect with who you truly are beneath the pain. Therapy isn’t about fixing you. It’s about helping you feel more at home in your own life.

Next Step
Whether you’re navigating trauma, depression, anxiety, relationship struggles, or simply feeling disconnected, you don’t have to do it alone. Let’s start with a conversation to see if we’re a good fit.
